Based on the collaborative relationship with the Liberia National Police, the authorities of the National Police Training Academy of Liberia requested LAPS to implement a one-day training with the new police recruits.
By LAPS Communication Team
As a result, LAPS planned, organized, and facilitated a day of training for about 320 new police recruits who were undergoing training at the police training academy on mental health and psychosocial support-related topics. The training was facilitated in batches of two separate sessions (morning and afternoon sessions). The training provided knowledge about vicarious/secondary trauma and its effects, as well as skills to manage daily law enforcement-related stressors during the upcoming elections and their overall self-care/well-being.
