LAPS Hosts International Workshop on Leadership Development and Violence Prevention in Liberia

The Liberia Association of Psychosocial Services(LAPS) in collaboration with Community Health care Initiative(CHI), hosted a 3 days Violence Prevention and Leadership Development Workshop at A la Lagune Resort located at Congo Town back road  from  the 8th – 10th of May, 2023.

The workshop was aimed at exploring effective strategies for violence prevention and promoting sustainable leadership development in Liberia.

The workshop was facilitated by MidRift Human Rights Network from Kenya and Dignity-Danish Institute Against Torture.

Representatives from state and non-state actors including, government line ministries, Women Rights organizations, GBV response and prevention actors, community based organizations, GBV Taskforce officials, Liberia National Police and

The first and second days of the workshop covered the Inter-Sectorial Urban Violence Prevention (IUVP) module, and the third day focused on Election Violence Prevention.

At the end of the workshop, participants expressed  appreciation and confessed that, the workshop provided  an excellent opportunity for them and their institutions to learn more about violence prevention and leadership development, connect with like-minded individuals/institutions, and contribute to making a positive impact in their respective  communities in particular  and Liberia in general.
